La Red de Fundaciones Universidad Empresa (REDFUE) held a working meeting with the Secretary General for Universities, Francisco García Pascual, to analyse some of the main challenges facing the university system and to make progress in strengthening collaboration between universities, public sector and businesses.
The meeting, held on 4 March at the headquarters of FUE in Madrid, brought together the REDFUE Executive Committee and provided an opportunity to present three strategic initiatives promoted by the network: the White Paper on International Talent, the Young Talent Promoting Company Seal and the Micro-credential for Company Tutors.
During the meeting, the Secretary General for Universities welcomed these initiatives and stressed the importance of recognising and raising the profile of companies that actively contribute to the training of talent with quality criteria. He also highlighted the need to strengthen the institutional recognition of internship tutors, both in universities and in host organisations, given the fundamental role they play in training processes.
The meeting also served to address strategic issues related to the university system, such as attracting international talent, improving the processes for recognising foreign qualifications, the role of external academic placements and the development of dual university education. In this context, the importance of continuing to promote training models that effectively integrate practical training into the professional environment was highlighted.
The meeting was attended by Fernando Martínez Gómez, president of REDFUE; Carmen Palomino Pérez, Director General of the University-Business Foundation; Jorge Izquierdo Zubiate, Vice-President of REDFUE and Manager of the General Foundation of the University of Burgos; Eduardo Manrique de Lara Martín-Neda, Vice-President of REDFUE and Managing Director of the University Foundation of Las Palmas; and Ana Gea Segura, Secretary-Treasurer of REDFUE and Manager of the University Foundation of Almería. Also in attendance were Laura González-López, advisory member of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, as well as technical representatives from the University-Business Foundation and REDFUE.
With this meeting, REDFUE reaffirms its commitment to promoting initiatives that strengthen collaboration between universities, businesses and public institutions, contributing to improving student employability, attracting talent and reinforcing the competitiveness of the system.
