REDFUE held its 68th Ordinary General Assembly on 10 June at the Palacio de Santoña (Madrid), attended by representatives of member foundations from across Spain.
During the meeting, the annual accounts and the 2025 annual report were unanimously approved, and the main lines of action that will shape the Network’s immediate future were defined.
The Assembly was chaired by Fernando Martínez, who highlighted REDFUE’s growth and consolidation as a leading force in fostering links between universities, business and society.
A financial year 2025 marked by growth and collaboration
The members approved the 2025 Annual Report, which reflects a particularly busy year for the Network, centred on four main areas:
• The development of the White Paper on Work Placements.
• Progress on the White Paper on International Talent.
• The promotion of collaborative projects amongst the member foundations.
• The institutional strengthening of REDFUE through the incorporation of two new organisations, bringing the total number of member foundations to 24.
Among the highlights of the financial year was the launch of the White Paper on Work Placements, Spain’s first guide to external university work placements and vocational training placements, the publication of which received widespread media coverage and brought together representatives from universities, public administrations and business organisations at its official launch.
The Assembly was also briefed on progress regarding the White Paper on International Talent, drawn up with the participation of 16 partner foundations and numerous universities within the Network. Its publication is scheduled for the coming months and it aims to become a reference document for improving the attraction and retention of international talent within the Spanish university system.
Microcredentials and recognition of corporate commitment
The Microcredential project for Corporate Internship Tutors began to be rolled out in 2025 with the aim of professionalising the role of the corporate tutor through short, practical training recognised by universities.
The Assembly also discussed the roll-out of the ‘Young Talent Development Company’ seal, an initiative designed to recognise organisations committed to providing high-quality practical training
Finally, Juan Ramón del Páramo was honoured for his long service, on the occasion of his forthcoming retirement after more than four decades at the helm of the General Foundation of the University of Castilla-La Mancha, and Carla Avilés was welcomed as the foundation’s new director.
Looking to the future
The event concluded with a presentation by Luis González Lorenzo, an expert in strategic foresight, who invited attendees to reflect on the importance of building a shared vision of the future and fostering organisations capable of anticipating change through collaboration and innovation.
With this 68th General Assembly, REDFUE reaffirms its commitment to continuing to strengthen collaboration between universities, businesses and institutions, promoting projects that contribute to improving employability, talent development and knowledge transfer as drivers of economic and social progress.
