REDFUE has paid an institutional visit to the University of Córdoba and the University Foundation for the Development of the Province of Córdoba (FUNDECOR), with the aim of further strengthening collaboration between the organisations that promote links between the university, business and society.
The REDFUE delegation was led by its president, Fernando Martínez, and vice-president, Jorge Izquierdo, who, accompanied by FUNDECOR’s managing director, María Ángeles Mellado, held an initial working meeting at the Rector’s Office of the University of Córdoba. During the meeting, they discussed some of the key shared challenges relating to graduate employability, knowledge transfer and innovation, as well as the strategic role played by university-business foundations in aligning university talent with the needs of the business sector.
Subsequently, the delegation was received at the University of Córdoba’s Social Council by its president, Francisco Muñoz Usano, alongside several members of this body representing society’s participation in the university. The meeting provided an opportunity to share experiences, identify new opportunities for collaboration and highlight the work carried out by university foundations as key players in fostering links between universities, businesses and institutions.
As a sign of the commitment and close collaboration between the two organisations, the chair of the Social Council presented REDFUE with an award in recognition of its support and collaboration with FUNDECOR.
Furthermore, the managing director of FUNDECOR, María Ángeles Mellado, received the commemorative medal marking the 35th anniversary of the Social Council and the 50th anniversary of the University of Córdoba, in recognition of the Foundation’s work in the areas of inclusion and equality and its contribution to the social and economic development of the region.
The event concluded with a shared commitment by REDFUE, the University of Córdoba, FUNDECOR and the Social Council to continue promoting joint initiatives that foster
employability, innovation, knowledge transfer and the strengthening of collaboration between the university and business, thereby helping to generate a positive impact on the region’s development and on the competitiveness of the university and business ecosystem.
