The Red Española de Fundaciones Universidad Empresa (REDFUE) has two new members after the incorporation as associates of the Fundación Universitat Jaume I-Empresa (FUE-UJI) of Castellón and the Fundación Empresa-Universidad de Alicante (FUNDEUN). After these incorporations, REDFUE now brings together 21 foundations dedicated to promoting the training and employability of young Spanish people.
REDFUE was created in 1997, promoted by the Fundación Universidad Empresa (FUE) among others, and is a non-profit association declared of public utility, made up of university-business foundations whose objective is to reinforce collaborations between universities, agents of the productive system and society in general as a guarantee of development and social progress in terms of employability, training, entrepreneurship, innovation and knowledge transfer.
Fernando Martínez, President of REDFUE and Executive Vice-President of FUE, said: ‘We welcome these two new members. Their incorporation to REDFUE will allow us to further strengthen our mission of promoting, encouraging and managing collaboration between the academic and business worlds at a national level, as well as our role as a meeting place for the exchange of experiences and knowledge of university-business foundations in Spain’.
For her part, Gloria Serra, manager of the FUE-UJI and member of the REDFUE executive committee, highlighted that for the Universitat Jaume I-Empresa Foundation joining REDFUE means a commitment to the University-Business collective and what it represents, sharing experiences and success stories and collaborative work based on the strengths of each of the University-Business foundations. We are joining REDFUE’, he added, ’to contribute our experience and contribute to the transfer of knowledge from our universities, with the conviction to continue contributing and generating alliances in University-Business relations. The REDFUE is a consolidated entity, with more than 25 years and with an increasingly strong prestige and respect; belonging to it is an honour and a generator of opportunities”.
Rafael Lafont, managing director of FUNDEUN, said: ‘Our participation in REDFUE will allow us to expand our actions from the local to the national and from the national to the global. It is an excellent platform to create synergies, links and collaborative projects that strengthen the territory. I have met an excellent group of professionals with a great desire to promote great projects. Innovation is in our DNA and we have to continually come up with new proposals that provide answers to the business-university connection. And networking is an essential strategic part of achieving this’.
